Where to stay in Bangkok
There are hotels, guest houses and hostels in Bangkok to suit all tastes and budgets. Indulge in a bit of luxury at an elegant hotel, or stay comfortably in a modestly priced guest house or hostel. Most Bangkok hotels are located around the Siam Square and Ploenchit Road areas (near the Chao Phraya River), and along Suriwong Road, Sukhumvit Road and Silom Road.
Getting Around in Bangkok
The most convenient way to get around in Bangkok is on the Skytrain (BTS) and the underground (MRT). Taxis and water taxis are a good way to explore Bangkok's attractions, and tuk-tuks, while hair raising, are a fun and inexpensive way to get from place to place. Remember to haggle the price before you get in. Driving in Bangkok is brave, but if you plan to drive outside Bangkok, for example to the nearby beaches, Bangkok car hire is relatively cheap and means you can take things at your own pace.
