For those who love a physical challenge, the best way to get to the top of Table Mountain is to climb it. However, if you prefer an easy ride, a thrilling cable car ride takes you to 1067 metres. Once at the top, follow safe and easy paths to the various lookout points and marvel at the absolutely awesome views over Cape Town and the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans. For an extra thrill, try abseiling through the clouds from the top.

Take a trip to Boulders Penguin Colony, home to a colony of African Penguins. See the penguins in their natural habitat from a specially built platform, and learn about these comical and vulnerable creatures in the new information centre. Boulders Beach itself is a lovely and safe place to swim.

For the very brave, a thrill like no other comes from Cage Diving with Great White Sharks. The opportunity of a lifetime, it allows you to get as close as is possible to the world's most feared creatures in the aptly named "Shark Alley", a short drive from Cape Town.

Cape Town's beaches are some of the best in the world - perfect for lovers of sand and sea. The water can be chilly, but it makes for a refreshing way to cool off in the hot summer sun.
